Description

The Constantin totems by Tatiana Queiroz are named after the Romanian sculptor Constantin Brâncusi, one of the most influential sculptors of the twentieth century. Brâncusi sculpted the essence of things and therefore often integrated geometry in his art.

Tatiana Queiroz, intrigued and inspired by the pioneer of modernism, builds her Constantin totems by milling soapstone into geometric shapes. She emphasizes clean contours and adds extra movement by combining the natural soapstone with carbon steel ornaments.

Soapstone is a naturally porous stone that should not to be used with water or any other liquid.  The colour of soapstone can vary from a gentle beige to bright blue and silvery grey.
